Their prayers have been answered!
The 8-year-old daughter of country singer-songwriter Jamie Lynn Spears has been released from the hospital following her terrifying ATV accident that nearly took her life on Sunday (Feb. 5).
Young Maddie was left unconscious after flipping her ATV into a pond and was underwater for at least two minutes before she was rescued by medics. She was being supervised by her mom and stepdad, Spears' husband, Jamie Watson, both of whom were unable to free her from her safety restraints. Maddie was airlifted to Children's Hospital New Orleans, where she was reportedly in "stable, yet critical condition."
On Wednesday (Feb. 8), Watson shared a photo of a hoodie that read, "Believe in Miracles," thanking everyone for their prayers and to announce that Maddie was doing much better.
Spears' older sister, pop superstar Britney Spears, also thanks fans for their prayers and support in a tweet.
Both Spears and Watson took to Instagram Friday (Feb. 10) to announce that Maddie has been released from the hospital and thanked everyone at Children's Hospital New Orleans for all their help in saving their little girl.
"Thanks to the amazing first responders, and medical teams at University and Children's Hospital in New Orleans, LA, we are headed home with our baby girl as she continues to recover. Above all else we are so thankful for each and every prayer, because we know that is what truly made the difference. Thank you again to everyone. We are truly blessed," she wrote captioning a picture of her and Maddie boarding a helicopter to go home.
We can't imagine what Spears and her family have been through the last week, and we are so incredibly happy that Maddie is okay. We are sending our continued prayers to Maddie as she goes home to recover.
