It has been a horrific night for Las Vegas as a gunman opened fired during the city’s annual Route 91 Harvest Festival held near the Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. The country music festival which boasts a lineup of some of country music’s biggest stars, came to a halt when gunshots were heard during the last song of Jason Aldean‘s set Sunday night (October 1).

Video captured by a concert goer shows Aldean performing on stage when gunfire begins to ring out. Aldean halts briefly then continues to sing before rushing off the stage. Fans of Aldean were concerned about his safety. According to ABC News, Aldean’s rep has confirmed that he is indeed safe.

Fellow country singer Travis Tritt tweeted that he had spoken to Aldean who was obviously shaken by the night’s events.

Other country artists who were in attendance took to social media to confirm their safety.

One gunman has been killed. At this time authorities believe that he may have acted alone.  At press time, two additional casualties have been confirmed and at least two dozen more have been injured.
