Jordan Smith Takes ‘The Voice’ To Church With “Great Is They Faithfulness”

NBC/The Voice

It’s hard to believe that it was two seasons ago when Jordan Smith won ‘The Voice.’ The Kentucky native was the first artist of season nine to reach No. 1 on the iTunes store pop songs list, and set new sales marks on the Billboard charts. Three of his performance throughout his ‘Voice’ tenure bumped Adele’s platinum-selling “Hello” from the top spot on the iTunes list. The accomplishments made him one of the reality singing competition’s most successful artists ever.

In the months since he won ‘The Voice,’ Smith has released a debut album, his first Christmas album, married his long-time sweetheart and is now on a Christmas tour with Amy Grant and Michael W. Smith.

Smith grew up singing at the Kentucky church he attended with his family. One of his favorite classic hymns is “Great Is They Faithfulness.” While on ‘The Voice,’ Smith performed the song with only his piano to accompany him. The performance took the song to the top of the iTunes charts and solidified Smith’s spot as a Season 9 frontrunner, and eventual winner.

Flashback with us to Jordan Smith’s performance of “Great Is They Faithfulness” from the Season 9 ‘Voice’ Top 12 round.
