There’s no mistaking Josh Turner‘s voice for anyone else’s. He’s known around the world for his deep voice, which has been captured forever in hit songs such as “Long Black Train” and “Time is Love.”

But Turner’s signature voice didn’t come as effortlessly as some believe. As Turner revealed in an interview with MLB Entertainment, he actually had to go through vocal rehab after he developed a lesion on his right vocal chord.

When I was that young, I was basically being told there was a chance I’d never be able to sing again – and it was scary,” he said.

Thankfully, Turner was able to recover, and now his voice is just as strong as ever. This is something he demonstrated when he stopped by the Bobby Bones Show on Monday (April 3).

With his acoustic guitar in hand, Turner decided to deliver a medley of some of his signature hits. The songs he selected were “Your Man,” “Would You Go With Me,” and “Why Don’t We Just Dance,” which were all number one hits on the country chart.

Turner opened up with the sultry “Your Man,” and we’re sure those listening to him sing on the radio felt their hearts skip a beat when he did. The middle song of the medley was “Would You Go With Me” and he brought it all to a close with “Why Don’t We Just Dance.”

This little medley perfectly illustrates the depth of Turner’s talent. With only the sound of his own guitar to back him up, he managed to deliver a clear and captivating performance.

Go ahead and tune in below to watch Turner’s swoon-worthy acoustic medley on the Bobby Bones Show. What else can we say? His talent is truly out of this world!
