Professional dancer and former country singer Julianne Hough has been living it up on her honeymoon with new husband, NHL player Brooks Laich. A few days after their incredible Idaho nuptials, the couple jetted off to Fregate Island Private, which is an inner island in Seychelles.
The pair shared swoon-worthy pictures of their tropical honeymoon with their Instagram followers throughout their time there.
During the second part of their honeymoon, the new Mr. and Mrs. Laich traveled to Kenya for a safari adventure. There, they spotted elephants, lions, hippos, and many other animals.
It seems, though, that their fun came to a screeching halt thanks to some backlash they received from their photos.
Because there have been many times that Hough and Laich are together in their Instagram posts, people have accused the couple of hiring someone to take photos of them throughout their honeymoon. Laich responded by sharing all the equipment he used, including a tripod with a remote and a drone.
Every photo that @juleshough and I have shared from our honeymoon was taken using this gear. Photography is a huge hobby of mine, and these are my chosen tools. Camera is the @sony A7RII, lenses are @sony FE 2.8/70-200, @zeisscameralenses FE 4/16-35 and FE 1.8/55. Tripod is a @gitzoinspires. The @gopro Hero5 Black. Drone is the @djiglobal Mavic Pro. And of course the iPhone, which is used to run the drone and also as a remote shutter for the @sony camera. I bought all of this gear myself, and am not in any way endorsed by any of these companies, just wanted to share this for the other shutterbugs out there that have been asking how we got our photos. Much love my friends, 📸🎥!
Hough herself received backlash after sharing a photo of a hippo she spotted. Her caption read, "Going in to the honeymoon I was feeling pretty dang fit...Coming off of the honeymoon, I may be more in line with this guy!"
Several followers were upset that as fit as she was, she was still complaining about her body.
"I think it's poor taste for someone as athletic and as fit as you, who is a fitness role model for so many people, to compare yourself to a hippo. You have little girls following you and people with actual body issues," one follower wrote.
"Sad to know how many girls will see this and in turn question thier [sic] own body image. We as women need to do better," wrote another.
One fed up follower commented, "Oh please! It's sad when thin girls think they are fat!"
We're not experts, but we think Hough was just talking about all the yummy food she has been able to eat while relaxing on vacation!
