The generosity bug is going around and it’s bitten country music superstar Kenny Chesney! The award-winning musician is teaming up with the CMA to gift Dolly Parton’s My People Fund with a substantial contribution of $500,000. Chesney and the association will each bring forth $250,000 for the combined total of half a million dollars, bringing hope and security to those who have been deeply affected by the wildfires that killed 14 people and blazed through hundreds of homes.

Parton has also announced that she will be hosting a benefit concert titled Smoky Mountains Rise: A Benefit for the My People Fund, in which proceeds and donations will go directly towards the singer’s cause. The lineup currently includes Parton, Amy Grant, Chris Janson, Big & Rich, Alison Krauss, LOCASH, Chris Stapleton, Chris Young, and Michael W. Smith.

The event is set to air December 13th at 8 pm (E/T) on Great American Country, as well as various radio stations and online outlets that intend to stream the event live.

A big thank you goes to these stars for their generosity and incredible acts of kindness.
