Even with his hectic 'Spread The Love' tour schedule and constant energetic performances, country icon Kenny Chesney continues to remind us that he can do it all! A recent press release revealed that Chesney will be partnering up with Engel, a competitive cooler manufacturing company, to design and create coolers in which a fraction of the revenue will go to spreading awareness about ocean preservation.
"It's not just about doing business," said Chesney. "It's about creating something people will think is cool that also makes a difference in our world."
Chesney's support for this cause comes as no surprise, knowing his many hit "island" themed songs, and the fact that he officially accepted a seat on the board on an organization called the Ocean Habitat Conservation Organization in 2014. A portion of all sales from Chesney's new line with Engel will benefit this organization in its efforts to build artificial reefs in the Gulf of Mexico and elsewhere.
Further evidence of Chesney's passion for ocean conservation is seen in his work with a not-for-profit called Rock the Ocean. Dedicated to raising awareness on global issues impacting the oceans and sea life, Rock the Ocean holds several benefit concerts, which Chesney often takes part in.
When it comes to his cooler line, Chesney hopes to create a variety of products that will both satisfy his fans and provide a positive impact on a cause that is so near and dear to his heart.
"The No Shoes Nation has a serious commitment to how they spend their time," explained Chesney, referring to his fans. "When they tailgate, they are hardcore. So I wanted to find a company that understood durable, portable, lightweight and high performance. Engel's all about functionality."
That definitely sounds like something we'd be interested in!
