It was a long road for the finalists of The Voice's 12th season, but it all came to an end Tuesday night (May 23). Team Blake favorite Lauren Duski proudly took home 2nd place after a season jam-packed with stunning country covers.
Throughout the season, Duski delivered cover after cover of some of country music's greatest classics including Wynonna's "Tell Me Why," "Ghost in This House" by Shenandoah, the Alison Krauss/Keith Whitley hit "When You Say Nothing At All," and most recently "The Dance" by Garth Brooks. But is was Duski's collaboration with a country super group during Tuesday night's finale that will have fans watching again and again.
Duski joined Little Big Town to sing their chart-topping hit "Better Man." The Taylor Swift-penned tune showed the versatility of Duski's voice and proves that there is most definitely a place for her in country music.
Tuesday night's "Better Man" performance wasn't the first time Lauren Duski had performed the song. In fact, just weeks earlier Duski and teammate Brennley Brown went head-to-head in the Battle Rounds with "Better Man." Coach Blake Shelton chose Duski to move on, but Brown was stolen by Gwen Stefani and made it all the way to the semi-finals.
While Lauren Duski didn't ultimately win the Voice title, we know that this is just the beginning for the talented singer.
