The CMA Awards show is an event that country artists look forward to all year. It’s a family reunion of sorts, a chance for artists to catch up with friends, old and new, and celebrate country music. But, for one artist, the excitement of the night was overshadowed by negative comments made online about her CMA appearance.
Miranda Lambert looked stunning as she walked the CMA Awards red carpet with boyfriend Anderson East Wednesday evening (Nov. 3). The ‘Automatic’ singer shared a photo of her and her guy on Instagram saying, “I had a great time last night celebrating country music at the CMA awards with my sweet ❤️ by my side! @andersoneast. I’m a lucky girl! Thanks to our wonderful Glam team for making us feel so special! Best in the biz!”
Lambert took to Instagram again late Thursday night, but for another reason….to call out “cowardly people” who left “judgemental and critical” comments on her beautiful CMA red carpet photo.
“Every now and then I decide to re-join the world of social media and post something really personal. Not promoting anyone or anything. Not selling a better version of myself to anyone or trying to look cool like we all do all the time,” Lambert, 32, wrote under a photo of herself on horseback “wearing yoga pants and no makeup.”
“But….Last night I was all dolled up and ‘out on the town’ with my sweet man at the CMA awards in Nashville. I was excited about the night and posted a picture. Just now when I looked I realized so many comments were judgmental and negative. Cowardly people hiding behind a keyboard or a cell phone writing their useless comments about our eyes and clothes and body language,” Miranda continued. “Thank y’all for reminding me why I read books , write songs, and spend most of my time with animals and people I trust and love.”
Miranda’s boyfriend, Anderson East only had one thing to say on Instagram: “I was the big winner last night.”
