Miranda Lambert Shares What She Loves Most About Touring With Kenny Chesney

Hard to believe, but as recent as 2009 Miranda Lambert was actually an opening act for another artist. Now, Lambert tours across the country on her own headlining tours, but she has remained close with the country star who swept her under his wing seven years ago.

That country star was Kenny Chesney, and he and Lambert remain close friends to this day. So when it came time for Chesney to embark on his Spread the Love Tour, he thought there was no better person to ask to join him than Lambert.

Of course, Lambert accepted, and she’s appeared on select dates of Chesney’s tour in between her own concerts for her Keeper of the Flame Tour.

Lambert was on hand for Chesney’s tour stop in Detroit on August 13, and took the time to speak to a local radio station about the tour. Lambert explained what it is about Chesney that makes him such an enjoyable person to tour with.

“Kenny is hilarious, and he’s so country, and down-to-earth and just a great guy,” she said.

When it comes to touring with Chesney, Lambert said she would tour with him every day if she could. For her, there’s something special about his shows that she can never seem to get enough of. 

“I’m so thankful to be on his tour, I would do that, all year, every year,” she said. “He’s just…it’s a great crowd, it’s a great family atmosphere, and I learn something every time I watch him.“

Being on tour together has given Lambert and Chesney the chance to collaborate on stage, and they often duet on “You and Tequila.” You can check out one of their performances in the video below.
