Bit by bit, we've been learning more about Miranda Lambert's upcoming album, The Weight of These Wings. Fans first got a feel for what kind of album to expect from Lambert when she released its lead single, "Vice," which soared up the charts.
The success of "Vice" is due in huge part to how different it is in comparison to Lambert's other music. It places her in a more vulnerable role than we've ever seen her before, and it carries a lot of power as a result.
Before she announced the title of the album, Lambert somewhat hinted at it when she called it an "emotional journey." With that comment in mind, it makes sense that she decided to name it The Weight of These Wings, which seems to both literally and metaphorically carry great emotion.
At the time she revealed the album's title, Lambert also shared that its release date would be November 18. Fans have been anxious to learn more ever since Lambert made that announcement, and now they finally have the album's cover art to see.
Lambert shared an image of the cover art for The Weight of These Wings on social media on Friday (September 30). The image has a vintage feel to it, and shows Lambert captured in an old Polaroid photo shot in black and white.
Standing in front of a large pair of wings and wearing a sparkling evening gown, Lambert clutches her guitar case in one hand while looking straight at the camera. Lambert didn't say anything about the photo, and really nothing needed to be said, because it speaks for itself.
