Martin Truex Jr. pulled off a stunning victory Sunday (March 12) at Las Vegas Motor Speedway after passing Brad Keselowski with only a lap and a half remaining. Truex's dramatic win was overshadowed by the drama that unfolded after the race.
Joey Logano and Kyle Bush fought for a top five position toward the end of the race, but Logano hit Busch and sent the No. 18 car spinning down. The move infuriated Busch who climbed from his car and waited for Logano. After Logano exited his car, Busch angrily approached his fellow racer and threw a punch. Security pulled Logano out of the way as members of his team brawled with Busch.
As the men fought, members of Logano's team and security attempted to pry the two apart. As a security guard drug Busch away from the fight, a nasty cut could be seen on the driver's forehead.
“I got dumped, flat out just drove straight into the corner and wrecked me,” Busch said. “That’s how Joey races, so he’s going to get it.”
Logano said the two don’t have issues with one another. He was just trying to drive to a better finish and "didn't have grip" which caused his car to clip Busch's.
“There wasn’t much talking, just a lot of swinging,” Logano said of Busch. “I was racing hard there at the end … and Kyle and I usually race really well together, usually we don’t have any issues and he tried to pin me down into the corner underneath Brad and we both about crashed on entry and I was still trying to gather it up by the center and I was going to spin out so I’m trying to chase it up and he’s there. So obviously nothing intentional but he thinks that.”
