The stars of the CMT show Nashville not only were cast because of their acting skills, but also because of their singing. While they are all incredible singers, a few actors’ singing talents stands out to fans, one being Lennon Stella who plays Maddie Jaymes.
Before being cast on Nashville, Lennon and her sister Maisy, who form the duo Lennon & Maisy, went viral for their cover of Robyn’s “Call Your Girlfriend.” Maisy also acts on the show as Maddie’s sister Daphne.
In late 2017, CMT revealed that the upcoming sixth season of the music drama would be its last, despite saving the show from being cancelled by ABC just one year prior. With the end of the series on the horizon, many of the cast members are figuring out what their next career move will be.
One actor who knows her next move is Lennon. She just announced on Facebook that she signed her very first record deal and will be releasing original music later this year.
“Soooo [sic] excited that I can finally share that I’ve signed my first label deal with RECORDS,” Lennon wrote on Facebook.
She also revealed that “the release will go through Columbia Records, coinciding with RECORDS’ new joint venture with Sony Music Entertainment.”
While this will be a solo venture for her, she did say, “Forever grateful for everything I got to be a part of with Maisy Stella. She is my best friend, favorite person in the world and nothing is going to change that.”
Many fans were up in arms over Lennon signing a solo deal, but Maisy made her own Facebook post gushing about how proud she is of her older sister, putting claims that there may have been a riff to rest.
