Back in June, Reba McEntire discovered something that all people fear. Someone snuck onto her property and took several of her belongings. Now, that man has finally been charged for his crimes.
KXII Fox News 12 reports that Clint Mansell of Lehigh, Oklahoma, pled guilty to stealing from McEntire's family ranch in Chockie, Oklahoma. The items stolen from McEntire's property are worth $28,000, and include an ATV, two air conditioners, and miscellaneous tools. Fortunately, some of the items have been recovered.
Deputies state that Mansell has been charged with burglary, possession of stolen property, and grand larceny. In addition to his charges in connection with the McEntire ranch burglary, Mansell is currently facing charges for theft in another county.
The whole situation was surely a tough one for McEntire, since the ranch has been in her family for years. Her father, Clark, purchased the ranch after he won a car in the early 1950s, according to the Pro Rodeo Hall of Fame. Through his hard work, McEntire's father managed to transform the 40 acres he originally purchased into an 8,000 acre ranch.
McEntire was raised on the ranch as a child, where she grew up surrounded by horses and cattle. Even now, McEntire and her family still enjoy spending time at the ranch whenever they get the chance. The ranch also served as the setting for McEntire's emotional music video, "Just Like Them Horses." It only seemed fitting to McEntire to film the video there, since the song is a tribute to her father, who passed away in October 2014. You can see the video below.
We're sure that McEntire is relieved to hear that Mansell pled guilty and has now been charged for his crimes. Hopefully she can rest easy at her beautiful ranch knowing that he has been charged.
