Recent Billy Ray Cyrus Interview Gets Uncomfortably Awkward

Billy Ray Cyrus has been making the talk show rounds promoting “Still The King,” his CMT comedy series that is set to return to television. Cyrus is a pro when it comes to interviews as he has hundreds under his belt over the course of his two decade career. But, a recent interview threw Billy Ray for a loop as things got awkward.

Cyrus appeared on “The Wendy Williams Show” on July 12 and immediately got off to an awkward start as the show’s host was obviously unprepared for the interview.

“Do you know where you are?” Williams asked Billy Ray. “I like your hair. It’s really long. Still the mullet.”

“It’s kind of an Elvis mullet,” Cyrus explained before Williams launched into more compliments. “I see where your daughter gets her eyes. Your eyes are hypnotizing. You’re a very good looking man. And so is your wife.”

Very little was said about Cyrus’ television show as Williams centered the conversation around the “Achy Breaky Heart” singer’s family.

“Your daughter. Her name starts with a ‘T,’” the host said. “I’m forgetting her name. The one who was on MTV.”

“Noah?” Billy Ray replied.

“Noah, exactly. I’m sorry, an ‘N,’” Williams embarrassingly replied.

Cyrus further corrected the host when she brought up the television show that Cyrus’s wife, Tish, and daughter, Brandi, star on.

“The home one on HGTV,” Wendy said before Billy Ray corrected her saying that the show airs on Bravo.

“I’m sorry. But it’s one of those shows where she’s fixing houses.” Williams added before Billy Ray filled her in on the name of the show, “Cyrus vs. Cyrus.”

“I know. I know stuff. I’ve seen,” Wendy replied.

While the entire interview was a bit awkward, Billy Ray handled it with grace. If he picked up on the awkwardness, one would never know as he kept smiling and kindly answering the host’s questions.
