Although it's been four months since Joey Feek passed away after a long battle with cancer, her husband, Rory, still has a hard time coping with her death. He continues to let fans in on his life, just like he did while Joey was sick, through the use of his blog, This Life I Live

In a new blog post, Rory wrote about his recent vacation out West in Wyoming and Montana. But as Rory revealed, he wasn't the one who planned the trip...Joey was.

Sometime in February, Joey gathered her three sisters around and told them about past trips she and Rory had taken out West. The two of them had traveled to Montana for their honeymoon, and she was in love with the beautiful scenery the state had to offer. Knowing that most of her sisters hadn't traveled far past Illinois, Joey asked Rory to take all of them and their families out west this summer.

Rory honored her wishes, and he, Indiana, and his older daughters, Heidi and Hopie, joined Joey's three sisters and their families at a friend's cabin in Montana. They enjoyed a 4th of July parade, a rodeo, fly fishing, and horseback riding, as well as the gorgeous views of the mountains.

One of the most unique and memorable experiences of the trip for Rory is when they went to a pasture party to watch a Western band perform. Describing it as "a scene out of a movie," Rory filmed the moment along with others from their trip and put the footage together in a clip backed by a song he and Joey recorded.

Although Rory enjoyed his time with his daughters and Joey's family, the trip was hard on him. He missed Joey terribly, and wished she could have been there to enjoy everything they experienced. "At the cabin, I would watch Joey's sisters all playing with their kids," Rory wrote, "and it broke my heart to know that Joey couldn't be there to play with Indiana too."

But Rory found some peace in the fact that he knew Joey was with them in some sense, even if she couldn't be there physically. "We all knew that somewhere up there, my sweet wife was smiling too," he wrote, "watching her wish for her sisters come true."

You can watch Rory's beautiful video from their family vacation in the clip below.
