With the exception of the tune “Sweet By & By,” which was on the compilation album Southern Family, it’s been a full year since Miranda Lambert released her last single. Since then, fans have been anxious to hear some new music from one of country’s leading ladies. After waiting patiently for so long, that moment may have arrived.
Back in April, Lambert stunned at the ACM Awards with her cover of ZZ Top‘s “Tush.” But as the show’s executive producer later revealed, that wasn’t Lambert’s original plan. Instead, Lambert had intended to debut a new single on the show and then release it immediately after it was over. However, the song wasn’t ready in time, so Lambert turned to her back up plan.
Three months later, it seems that Lambert’s new single may finally be ready to hit radio airwaves. Rumors are swirling in the country music community that Lambert’s new single could be here before the end of the month, on July 18 to be exact.
The first evidence of such a rumor was tweeted by Big 99.9 Coyote Country out of Spokane, Washington, when they shared an Entertainment Weekly article about Lambert’s ex-husband, Blake Shelton, speaking about his relationship with his girlfriend Gwen Stefani.
“P.S. We’ll have a new Miranda Lambert single on July 18th,” they wrote in a tweet that seems to have been deleted from their page but was screen grabbed by another user.

Others are buzzing about Lambert’s upcoming single on social media as well, saying their radio stations have also said they’ll start playing it on July 18.
If the rumors are true, then Lambert’s July 18th release will be the first single she’s released since her highly-publicized divorce from Shelton. It raises the question as to whether or not the song will touch on the topic, but we guess we’ll just have to wait until July 18th and see.
