Recently, Sadie Robertson announced that she and some of her closest confidants will be writing blog posts for her Live Original website. Even though she will not embark on her second annual tour until mid-October, these blog posts are a way to stay connected to her dedicated fans daily.
Every week day, a new post will be available to read from various writers including Robertson’s grandma Chrys, her cousin’s wife Brighton, Christian singer and American Idol alum Colton Dixon, and Little People Big World stars Audrey and Jeremy Roloff, just to name a few.
Robertson kicked off the blogging with a very personal entry about her passionate relationship with ex-boyfriend Blake Coward. After over two years of dating, the young reality star and college baseball player called it quits, shocking their fans with the sudden split.
On Instagram, they were the picture perfect couple, but in reality, it was much different than that. In her blog post, titled “A Passionate Pursuit,” Robertson revealed she mistook their passion for real emotion.
“We created this false love for ourselves that said it was okay to constantly fight like cats and dogs, scream hateful words and cry till [sic] our eyes were swollen,” she wrote. “All we’d have to do afterwards is share a kiss, make up and then boom – our relationship would be stronger than ever.”
That is, until, their last huge fight, which was right after she walked in the Sherri Hill fashion show for New York Fashion Week in February 2016.
“I remember sitting outside of my hotel room in New York City after walking in fashion week. I was trying to hide from my family and friends so they would not see the makeup that was running down my face after an intense fight I just had on the phone. I clicked on my bible app and I re-read 1st Corinthians chapter 13. This is when I decide to seek truth and invited these words to tear down walls of lies that had been built up for so long. I remember comparing the conversation I just had with my boyfriend to the words I was reading in the bible, and let me tell you…it was the furthest things from the words we ended with…I love you.”
It was in that moment that she knew the relationship had to end. At the end of March 2016, Robertson’s rep confirmed to Us Magazine that the young couple had been broken up “for weeks”.
Since then, she has focused her passion into her inspiring speaking engagements, helping the organization Help One Now, and going on mission trips to the Dominican Republic.
“Passion has a new meaning in my life. It is a passion that is pure, and it is the very thing that fuels me to press past the feelings that rise up and make me fear the future,” she wrote.
It seems Coward and Robertson have a cordial relationship because she ended the blog with, “Ps : This was Sadie written and Blake approved.”
