Early on in the race for president, Duck Dynasty stars Willie and Phil Robertson endorsed their candidates. They are known for their conservative and religious beliefs and are usually on the same page when in comes to politics.
Not this time! Willie endorsed Donald Trump, while Phil was backing Ted Cruz. When Cruz dropped out of the race, Phil hopped on the "Trump Train", as he calls it, and even asked Trump if he could be his Spiritual Advisor.
Not many other Robertson family members are outspoken about their political affiliation, but one of the Robertson's newest voters is finally speaking out about the subject.
Sadie Robertson, who recently just turned 19-years-old, was interviewed by the Washington Times where she spoke about her upcoming Live Original Tour as well as who she is voting for in the upcoming election.
Robertson reveals she recently took an interest in politics, thanks to her father.
"I’m glad he did that for me, because I know how to talk about it and not just say that I’m voting for this person because my parents are, but I’m voting for this person because this is what I found and this is what I believe in," she said.
So, is she voting for Trump, like her family? You betcha, but she wasn't on the "Trump Train" right away.
“I do support Trump. I just really — I didn’t decide right off the bat. My dad was pretty much on the Trump train from the beginning. My mom and I really did a lot of research, and we looked into it, and now that it’s down to two … I think Trump is the best candidate.”
Robertson is going on tour beginning September 22 and will be done just in time for the election.
