Country music star Scotty McCreery experienced quite the humble beginning to stardom, auditioning on Fox's hit competition show American Idol in 2011 and enduring each exhilarating round until his coveted Season 10 win. The then 16-year-old was only blazing his trail to success, snagging a variety of awards and charting his handful of hits.
Despite McCreery's uprising path to fame and music, fans often enjoy reverting to the crooner's early performances on Idol, in which this fresh-faced and bright eye southerner captivated judges and hearts with his velvety vocals and raw emotion. One week in particular, referred to as "Country Week", called for contestants to give a moving performance to a country hit, landing the North Carolina native right in his familiar territory.
Performing George Strait's emotional ballad "I Cross My Heart", McCreery gave the heart-rendering lyrics an explosive kick with his genuine emotions and searing vocal talent. The audience was mesmerized by the singer, slowly falling deeper and deeper into the star's powerful performance.
It sure doesn't get any betting than this, folks! This sensational performer sure knows how to do a hit ballad some serious justice. Check out the video below, although we can't guarantee you won't fall madly in love.
