Honored during one of the biggest nights in the music industry, country legend Dolly Parton found herself at the top of the world again with her 9th award from The Grammys!
Nominated for her dazzling group performance with a cappella masters, Pentatonix, Parton was overwhelmed with gratitude after hearing of the track’s Grammy win and couldn’t hold back her excitement!
Parton’s performance of her iconic hit, “Jolene”, alongside the talented a cappella group became an instant hit from the very first time they performed it and has sold a seemingly endless number of records – becoming a massive success for both musical acts.
The pairing was nominated for, and won, a Grammy Award for Best Country Duo/Group Performance and beat out fellow acts like Kenny Chesney with Pink, Brother’s Osborne, Dierks Bentley with Elle King, and Chris Young with Cassadee Pope.
After learning of her momentous win, Parton issued a sparkling statement of gratitude to her fans in which she gushed pure excitement and love.
“Oh my Lord, I am so excited to have won the Grammy with Pentatonix on my old song ‘Jolene,’” Parton says in a press release. “I am so happy and am so very proud of Pentatonix. The song is one of my favorites. Thanks to the Grammys, but most importantly thanks to all the fans. I love you all.”
Parton’s last Grammy win was during the 2016 awards show in which she was honored with one of the highest honors from the Grammys: the Lifetime Achievement Award.
Of winning that, Parton coyly revealed that she wasn’t done working hard and making music, adding “I hope to win at least seven more Grammys!”
We are so proud of Dolly Parton and her work with Pentatonix. We are thrilled to congratulate them and can’t wait to see more collaborations in the future!
