Fans have been patiently waiting for new music from Shania Twain for over a decade. Thanks to an interview during the Stanley Cup Final on Sunday (June 11), we now know that the wait isn't much longer!
CBC Sports' Hockey Night in Canada host Scott Oake sat down with Twain quickly between periods to talk about how she feels about hockey in Nashville and of course, her new music.
She first announced that she had new music coming out at the October 2016 CMT Artists of the Year special saying, "I have new music coming out really soon, and I'm very excited about it. There will be a new musical chapter."
Fans freaked out since her latest release was 2002's UP! and although she toured in 2015 and did a two-year Las Vegas residency from 2012-2014, there was no sign of new music.
We finally got to hear a clip of her new single, titled "Life's About To Get Good", in a TV commercial for the 2018 Winter Olympics, and at her headlining act at Stagecoach Music Festival in April 2017, but other news about the album were unknown, including the title.
Thanks to Oake's hard-hitting interview, we now have a release date for "Life's About to Get Good", an album title, and a relative album release date!
"The single is...'Life's About To Get Good', the album is 'Now'. When can we look forward to both of them?" he asked.
She revealed, "The single is coming out on June 16th, ‘Life’s About To Get Good’, and then the album is coming out in late August."
Mark your calendars, y'all! Twain's album, which according to Oake, is titled Now, will be released at the end of August, with the single coming out next week!
