After five Grammy Awards, a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and over 85 million records sold, Shania Twain has just reached another huge milestone in her career. The announcement comes during an exciting time for Twain, who recently received the Artist of a Lifetime Award at the CMT Artists of the Year awards ceremony.
Fans already knew about one of the big things that Twain has in store for the coming year. During the Artists of the Year ceremony, Twain revealed that she is working on a new album with the hopes of releasing it this year. When she does, it will be the first album she's released since 2002's Up!
As reported by Rolling Stone, Twain's new album is set for release some time during the late spring or early summer this year. Considering Twain's most recent announcement, the timing would be perfect.
Starting on Monday (January 9), the Country Music Hall of Fame began announcing its lineup of exhibits for the coming year. On Monday, the Hall of Fame revealed Jason Aldean as the first artist who will be featured in a special exhibit.
When Tuesday (January 10) rolled around, the Hall of Fame confirmed that Twain will be the next artist to have a featured exhibit!
Earning an exhibit in the Hall of Fame is a big deal. Only the most successful artists end up receiving such an honor, which is why having a Hall of Fame exhibit is considered to be a highlight of many artists' careers.
Twain released a statement about the new exhibit, saying how much fun it has been to prepare for it:
"It's an honor to be a part of the Country Music Hall of Fame exhibitions for 2017. Being able to re-visit favorite costumes, photographs and memories from my career has been a special feeling, especially as this year will see a new stage for me with a brand new album! I'm very excited to have these important creative moments on display."
According to Rolling Stone, the exhibit will focus on Twain's tours and her major career milestones, including her smash hit album Come On Over. The exhibit will open on June 26, and remain open until June 17, 2018.
Congratulations to Twain on this incredible honor. We can't wait to learn more about her exhibit!
