Shaquille O’Neal Drops A Challenge By Lip Syncing To Carrie Underwood

In what can only be described as one of the most bizarre (and hilarious) videos we’ve ever seen, NBA great Shaquille O’Neal challenged the father of L.A. Lakers rookie Lonzo Ball to a basketball throwdown while lip-syncing to a Carrie Underwood tune.

Lonzo Ball’s father, LaVar, started it all this past spring when he famously declared that he would have killed Michael Jordan one-on-one in his “heyday.” 48-year old LaVar told Jimmy Kimmel last month that his size would be an advantage against Jordan.

“He’s too small. He’s too little,” he said. “… You know I’m undefeated one-one-one; I don’t ever lose one-one-one.”

The smack talk has escalated, causing an epic challenge between the O’Neals and the Balls. Over the weekend, Shaq’s 17-year old son, Shareef, promised that he could beat Lonzo Ball’s 15-year old brother, LaMelo.

“When you’re a young up and coming player you’re supposed to say you’re the greatest in the world. Is he better? Yeah, I think he’s better,” Shaq told TMZ about his son.

LaVar Ball fired back saying, “Me and Melo against [Shareef] and Shaq? We’ll kill ’em. We’ll kill ’em.”

If Shaq’s recent Instagram post is any indication, the playoff between the O’Neals and the Balls is most definitely going to happen. And Shaq is so certain that he and his son will win that he agreed to permanently super glue a shaggy blonde wig to his head if they lost. The four-time NBA champion donned the wig while lip-syncing to Carrie Underwood‘s “Blown Away” as a way of accepting the challenge put down by the Balls.

“If lavar ball beats me I’ll superglue this wig to my head forever. It’s only one BIG BALLER BRAND and that’s me THE SHAQ BRAND,” O’Neal captioned his Instagram video. “Wake up bro. I made more free throws in a game then the Points you averaged mr 2.2 a game. Respect this first balloter #relax #justwatchyoursonplay #shhhhhh #youtoloud #youcanneverbeattheonealboyz”
