Sister Act Joins Broadway Star For Chilling Cover Of “More Than Words” On ‘The Voice’

‘The Voice’ Season 11’s only duo, sisters Whitney & Shannon, joined Broadway vet Gabriel Violett for a one-of-a-kind cover of the 1990’s hit song “More Than Words” on this season’s final night of Battle Rounds. The trio nailed the tune that is usually performed with only two parts with the extra voice gave the song almost a haunting effect as the singers fought for their spot on Team Alicia.

Violett showed off his impressive falsetto and harmonized perfectly with the sisters whom coach Miley Cyrus said had almost a “psychic connection.” But, it wasn’t enough to secure Violett’s place in the competition and he was sent packing.

“There’s such a love that emanates from the two of you,” Keys said of Whitney & Shannon. “I really appreciate the way that you’re able to show the world what music can look like and sound like and be like — and there’s no definition to it.”

“So beyond excited to still be on #TeamAlicia! Thank you for believing in us!!!! This is all just too much to take in,” the sisters tweeted after the show.

Whitney & Shannon now move on to the Knockout Rounds, where they will again be pitted against a fellow Team Keys member.  Country couple Tim McGraw and Faith Hill will be appearing as advisors during the next round of competition and will no doubt have some wonderful duet advise for the sisters.
