Singer-songwriter Rory Feek shared the spotlight with his wife as country music duo Joey + Rory before her life was cut short from cancer back in March of this year. After captivating millions with heartbreaking blog posts documenting life before and after his wife's untimely death, Rory is releasing a full-fledged autobiography in devotion to Joey.
"[Ernest] Hemingway once said, 'There is nothing to writing," Rory wrote in a blog post regarding the novel. All you do is sit down at a typewriter and bleed.' And I believe that he was right. Except, for this book to happen… I did the first part, and Joey did the last."
The novel shares the name of his blog, This Life I Live, and chronicles his stormy life before Rory, matrimony, the miraculous birth of daughter Indy, and the tragedy that rocked all their lives. The first three chapter of This Life I Live, "Famous for Love," "Stronger," and "The Middle of Nowhere," have been made available on the book's official website.
“There are hundreds of stories in the book like the one above about the ring. Stories where I am amazed by Joey. Or amazed by God. Or both. Stories about my mother’s strength and my father’s weakness and how both of those things are inside of me now. All part of a bigger story about the man that I was, and the man Joey married and also the man that I’m learning to become,” Rory said in his blog post.
Prior to the book Rory released a full-length documentary, To Joey, With Love: A Story of Life, Love & Hope That Never Dies, which chronicled the couples story through the highs and lows near the end of Joey's life.
You can relive the magic that was Joey Feek in the official trailer for the documentary in the video below.
