If you were one of many who tuned in to the CMA Awards on Wednesday night (November 8), then you got the chance to witness a special reunion. In a surprise moment for all who watched, Jennifer Nettles and Kristian Bush strolled out together to introduce the nominees for Vocal Duo of the Year.

For those of you who didn't know, Nettles and Bush form the country duo Sugarland. The two have released their fair share of hits, including "All I Want to Do," "Already Gone," "Stay," and "Stuck Like Glue."

As one of the leading duos in modern country music, Sugarland has received the CMA Award for Vocal Duo of the Year a total of five times. While they were presenting the award at this year's ceremony, the two made a comment about how they made win the award again in the future. As you would expect, that comment got fans' hopes up that a real reunion would be coming soon.

You see, Sugarland hasn't released a new album as a duo since 2010's The Incredible Machine. They continued to perform together for a couple more years, but went on hiatus to focus on their individual careers in 2012.

During their time off from the duo, Nettles released two solo albums and a Christmas record. She also starred as Dolly Parton's mother Avie Lee Parton in the television films Coat of Many Colors and Christmas of Many Colors: Circle of Love.

As for Bush, he released a solo record of his own. He also released multiple singles, and recorded a theme song for the popular television series Say Yes to the Dress.

Now you can understand why Sugarland's CMA Awards reunion was such a big deal. After all of the buzz surrounding their appearance, it didn't take long for the duo to confirm the news fans have been waiting years to hear...they're releasing new music!

As announced via a press release from Big Machine Label Group, Sugarland is supposed to reveal more news about new music "in the coming weeks." That's all the press release had to say, but it's enough to get us excited for what's to come!

While you wait to hear what's next for Sugarland, look back on one of the highlights of their career so far by checking out the video below!
