LeAnn Rimes Brings The Crowd To Tears With Her Chilling Cover Of ‘Hallelujah’

Country star LeAnn Rimes moves the crowd to tears with her beautiful cover of Jeff Buckley’s version of “Hallelujah” at her concert at the Paramount in New York City back in June.  

“Sing it girl!” enthusiastically shouts a man in the audience after LeAnn powerfully delivers a round of “Hallelujahs” that sends the crowd into a wild round of applause. The country star sits atop a stool for the duration of the performance while swaying back and forth as the powerful lyrics flow through her. 

“Maybe there’s a God above, but all I’ve ever learned from love was how to shoot somebody who outdrew ya” sings Leann. “It’s not a cry you hear at night, it’s not somebody who’s seen the light, it’s a cold and it’s a broken Hallelujah.” 

The song was originally written by Canadian recording artist Leonard Cohen but was popularized by Jeff Buckley’s version released in 1994. 300 known versions of “Hallelujah” have be performed (and recorded) following the re-popularization of the song after it was featured on the soundtrack for Shrek in 2001.
