Country beauty Tammy Wynette, alongside a limited number of female musicians, is praised as being ono of the most influential female country artists, snagging herself the title of the "First Lady of Country Music". Wynette went on to record her first chart topping duet with David Houston in "Your Good Girl's Gonna Go Bad" in which her success transferred over to her following single "I Don't Wanna Play House".
The heartbreaking hit tells a story of a single mother who overhears her daughter telling a neighborhood boy that she does not want to play house with him because "I've watched mommy and daddy and, if that's the way it's done, I don't wanna play house."
The little girl also expresses to the boy that playing house makes her mommy cry and "when [Mommy] played house, my daddy said 'goodbye'."
The emotional song was given a gut-wrenching performance from Wynette when she solemnly sang the number in a former television debut. The talent wore a striking red dress complete with a luminous amount of glitter.
