The Robertsons Rally Around Mia Before A Scary Surgery

Over the last couple weeks, A&E has been releasing the Top Ten Fan Favorite Moments from the ten seasons of Duck Dynasty.

As fans of the reality TV hit, we are super thankful because these are all our favorite moments, too! Who woulda thunk?!

Taking the No. 2 spot is the episode when Jep and Missy’s daughter, Mia, requests a family reunion party before her fifth surgery for her cleft lip and palate.

Earlier in the episode, Jase and his brothers all talked about how much fun it was having such a large family with lots and lots of cousins. They told so many stories and most of them involved wrestling each other. Since their childhood, the family has only gotten bigger. Mia wanted to meet all these family members and have a wrestling party!

Robertsons near and far came to the party to celebrate Mia and she could not have been more excited. John Luke and Sadie interviewed each family member and asked them to explain how they were related to the Robertson family.

“My grandmother, Judy, was Phil’s sister,” one woman said. Si’s daughter and grandsons were even there!

At the end of the party, Mia bravely addressed her huge family, thanking them for all coming to support her.

“I’ve had four surgeries so far and I’ll have another one in a few days. It’s a biggie,” she said. “I have to drink all my food for three months. I’m a little scared about that because I’m really gonna miss chicken nuggets.”

She went on to read her favorite bible verse, Psalm 46:10, which read, “Be still and know that I am God.”

Mia explains why she likes the verse so much.  “Whenever I feel sad or have struggles, I know that God is bigger that all that and He is bigger than any of your struggles, too.”

As the camera panned to the Duck Dynasty family members, there wasn’t a dry eye in the place.

Luckily, the surgery went extremely well and she will not need another one for a while!
