The 14th season of The Voice is fast approaching, and we couldn't be more excited. Joining veteran coaches Blake Shelton, Adam Levine, and Alicia Keys is newcomer Kelly Clarkson, who really isn't that much of a newbie!
She served as Shelton's advisor during Season Two, and was a key advisor for all the teams during Season 13. In a new sneak peek video for the upcoming season, which debuts on February 28, along with the hilarious banter between all the coaches, we noticed something a little different from past seasons - a block button.
"In addition to the big, red button we all know, each coach's chair has three new powerful buttons with the names of the other three coaches," host Carson Daly explained on Yahoo! Entertainment. "These allow each coach to block another coach from getting an artist."
If you're thinking that this could end up in pandemonium with coaches blocking each other for every singer, you're right, but Voice producers have got you covered! Only one block per coach is allowed during the Blind Auditions.
Daly continued to explain how the new block button works by saying, "Let's say Kelly hears a voice that she really wants, but she doesn't want Blake to get that artist. She will just hit her Block Blake button. It both turns Kelly's chair and block Blake from getting that artist. The thing is, Blake won't know that he's blocked until he hits his big button and turns his chair around to see [the words, 'Blocked' in front of him]."
From the preview, it looks like it will definitely be an interesting element to the already extremely competitive Blind Auditions! Do you like the addition of the block button? Let us know in the comments!
