With two little ones to take care of at home, Thomas Rhett's wife Lauren Akins doesn't have much free time on her hands any longer. To make things easier for herself, Lauren decided it was time to make a big change to her former hairstyle.
Up until the other day, Lauren was known for her long locks. When it came time to take her maternity photos prior to welcoming daughter #2 Ada James, Lauren enlisted the help of The Dry House Salon in Nashville to style her hair.
This pic makes me so happy because we haven't done personal photos since our wedding almost 5 years ago (😳) and I just realllyyyyy do like him a lot & we're not a dressed up on a red carpet with a bunch of fancy clothes and make up-just me and him on the farm in our happy place...yes @thedryhousenashville did my hair (I mean clearly) but other than that, this is us in our real life and I looooovveee it😩💛 (although maybe next time we do personal photos I'd like to not be 40 lbs over my normal weight hahah🙄) I love you honey! Best baby daddy a girl could ever dream of 😍 • • • 📸: @juliepaisleyphotography
Now that baby Ada is here, Lauren made a return to the Dry House Salon for some more hairstyle help. But this time she didn't simply go in to have it styled, she went in for a full-out haircut.
Joined by her other daughter Willa Gray, Lauren visited the Dry House Salon to have over a foot of her hair cut off. She debuted the dramatic change in a photo that she shared on Instagram, which shows Willa Gray holding the ponytail her mama had cut off.
"Willa Gray got into my scissors this morning," Lauren joked in the caption to her photo.
Lauren plans to donate her cut hair to Pantene's Beautiful Lengths program, which creates real-hair wigs for women who have lost their hair as a result of cancer treatments. Those who donate hair have to make sure the ponytail is at least eight inches long.
Watch the before and after of Lauren's hair transformation in the clip below. We think it looks lovely, and we admire her for donating her cut hair!
