Tim McGraw Makes Statement After Friend Hospitalized

Just days after his very close friend of more than 30 years was hospitalized with a severe infection stemming from complications with diabetes, the country superstar is opening up about the effects of diabetes on him and others. 

On Tuesday (Oct 11th), Tim McGraw posted a message to fans asking for prayers after learning that one of his closest family friends, Carmen Gonzales, had been hospitalized with a very serious infection. 

 

 

Today, he released a video statement about how diabetes has affected him, his family, his friends, and his fans – and encouraged people affected by the disease to share their story. 

Tim has long been known as a big supporter of education and research in the fight against diabetes, and this was a perfect way to communicate that.

The video is a partnership with America’s Diabetes Challenge and they ask caregivers/loved ones to share their stories about how they help set and reach their family and friend’s A1C goals.
