No Presidential inauguration in recent history has caused quite as much division among the music community as the inauguration of Donald Trump. The President elect is set to be sworn into office Friday, January 20, and the list of entertainers performing for the event is changing every day.
Many of the acts asks to participate in the historic event have backed out after receiving backlash from Trump opposition. But, others such as country acts Lee Greenwood, Big & Rich, Rascal Flatts' Gary LeVox and Toby Keith are scheduled to perform despite criticism.
Toby Keith recently spoke out in response to those critical of his decision to perform at Donald Trump’s presidential inauguration.
"I don’t apologize for performing for our country or military. I performed at events for previous presidents [George W.] Bush and [Barack] Obama and over 200 shows in Iraq and Afghanistan for the USO," Keith said in a statement to EW.
Keith’s performance at will take place at the Lincoln Memorial on January 19 during the "Make America Great Again! Welcome Celebration! He will be joined by 3 Doors Down, Lee Greenwood, Jennifer Holliday, The Piano Guys, and the Frontmen of Country. Other performers include The Rockettes, the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, and America’s Got Talent contestant Jackie Evancho.
