Maryville Police Officer Kenny Moats, 32, was fatally shot last Thursday in what is believe to have resembled an ambush upon responding to a domestic violence call. Brian Keith Stalans, 44, opened fire on the arriving officers, shooting the nine-year veteran of the Maryville, Tennessee Police Department directly in the neck and claiming his life.
The father of three's gruesome death has deeply stricken not only the state of Tennessee, but has broken the hearts of civilians and law enforcement officials nationwide. However, despite this emotional time of tragic loss and unwarranted violence, it is the kind-hearted deed of a country music icon and a local Tennessee venue that is restoring hope to Moats' devasted family, friends, and supporters.
Country music artist Trace Adkins has partnered up with a Tennessee venue, Back Porch On The Creek, to present the slain officer's family with a generous donation of $10,000.Additionally, Adkins has offered any law enforcement officials free admission with a presentation of their badge, including discounted general admission tickets to the public.
While there is no sum of money that can bring back the devoted father, loving son, and remarkable friend in blue, Adkins and "The Back Porch On The Creek" are exuding admirable efforts to assist the family as they can.
