On Wednesday (August 31), Tracy Lawrence said his final goodbyes to his father, Duane Dickens. According to Dickens’ obituary, he was 83 when he passed away at his home in Texarkana, Arkansas.
Dickens was born on August 12, 1933 in Foreman, Arkansas to his parents Fountain McIver and Emma Jean Dickens. He was a student at Southern Methodist University, where he graduated with a degree in banking.
After graduation, Dickens went on to become the Vice President of State First National Bank, and he worked there for a total of 44 years. He was also a member of the First United Methodist Church in Foreman and was a Shriner in the Masonic Lodge.
Dickens is survived by his children, Tracy, Laney, Samuel, Wendi, DeRenda, and Daphne. He is also survived by his brother, Charles, and his twin sister, Dolores, along with his 17 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Dickens will take place on Monday (September 5) at 10 AM at the First United Methodist Church in Foreman. His final resting place will be in the Dollarhide Cemetery in the city.
