The Women Spent Four Unforgettable Minutes In Space
Jeff Bezos’ Blue Origin is a commercial space flight that operates on a pay-to-play model. Celebrities, artists, and the elite can pay between $200,000 and $300,000 to go to space.
On April 14th, (today), an all-female crew has been launched into space on Blue Origin’s 11th human flight.
According to the launch’s official website, the flight has officially become the first all-female space crew in more than 60 years.
The flight overview is outlined:
“New Shepard astronauts ascend toward space at more than three times the speed of sound. They pass the Kármán line, the internationally recognized boundary of space 62 miles (100 km) above Earth, before unbuckling to float weightless and gaze at our planet. The crew returns gently under parachutes.”
The women on board the historic flight included Aisha Bowe, Amanda Nguyễn, Gayle King, Katy Perry, Kerianne Flynn, and Lauren Sánchez.
