Carly Pearce Ended Up In The Hospital After Facing An Injury That Required Stitches
Carly Pearce is recovering after a scary injury landed her in the hospital.
On Thursday, August 7, Pearce shared a photo on her Instagram Story, letting her fans know that she had to be rushed to the hospital after cutting her hand open on a salad dressing bottle. She ended up having to get stitches in her thumb.
“Last night was interesting,” Pearce wrote along with an image of her laying in a hospital bed.
“If you are coming to the shows this weekend, a salad dressing bottle got the best of me & ended with me having to get a few stitches in my thumb.”
Pearce Shared A Storytime Video Explaining What Happened
The “What He Didn’t Do” singer later posted a video on TikTok explaining her injury in more detail.
In the video, Pearce is seen doing her makeup as she begins telling the story of how it happened.
“So last night I was getting ready to eat dinner after my show, and I went to open a bottle of ranch dressing, and when I went to open the bottle of ranch, it snapped off and a piece of glass cut my thumb,” she recalled.
She goes on to explain that at first she thought ketchup was running down her hand, but to her surprise, it was actually blood.

Thankfully, paramedics were on site, so Pearce was able to get a professional to look at her injury. They ended up telling her that it was a pretty bad cut and that she needed to get stitches.
She got to the hospital quickly after the paramedics offered her a ride in an ambulance. However, the trip ended up being a bit more dramatic than she expected.
“What I didn’t know was that the ride to the ER was going to be in an ambulance, and it’s policy that the patient has to sit on the stretcher and be strapped in,” she said.
Pearce made it to the hospital, where they stitched her up. She’s now sporting a large bandage wrapped around her thumb.
The injury limits her movement, though, and she says she is figuring out how to do everyday tasks like how to “pull your pants up after you pee.”
She also noted that she usually holds her microphone in that hand, so that is another challenge she will have to work through.
Pearce added that she is “so grateful” that the accident didn’t lead to something much more serious. It will only take her a few weeks to fully recover.
“So the moral of the story is be careful opening things and don’t go like my mother says, like I do, like a bowl in a china cabinet,” Pearce added at the end of her video.
