Morgan Wallen Arrest Footage Released

Earlier this week, extended video footage edited and annotated by the Midwest Safety YouTube channel revealed a closer look at the moments that led to Morgan Wallen’s 2024 arrest.

Wallen was arrested in April of 2024 on felony charges for allegedly throwing a chair off the sixth story rooftop of Chief’s, Eric Church’s bar in Downtown Nashville.

The nearly 30 minute footage shows at first, Wallen is detained on Broadway, but as time passes, fans begin to recognize him. Some approach, asking for photos and handshakes, while police work to disperse the growing crowd.

Meanwhile, Wallen’s security team steps in, trying to stop onlookers from taking pictures or recording videos by having him turn his back to the sidewalk.

The country singer remains calm throughout the encounter, never raising his voice or refusing a police request. Wallen remains notably polite toward several officers and even engages in casual conversation, asking officers about their hometowns, baseball, and country music.

Wallen Asks Officers “Not To Play” Chris Young

When in the police car, Wallen repeated that he hadn’t done anything wrong and asked the officer who his favorite country artists were, and the officer said Wallen was in his top three. When a song featuring Wallen and Thomas Rhett started playing, he started saying it was him, asking the officers to “turn it up.”

“That’s me and TR! That’s me right there!” Wallen said. “TR is one of the best dudes in the world. He would definitely not be getting arrested.”

The “Somebody’s Problem” singer also throws shade at country star Chris Young, asking the officers not to play his music.

“Please do not play Chris Young on this mother******,” Wallen says. “Oh, h*** no, he’s terrible. Play Hardy or [Ernest].”

Chris Young Fires Back At Wallen

While Chris Young did not directly respond to Wallen’s comment, on Monday (October 27), he did post a seemingly-pointed reaction on Instagram. Young uploaded a clip of Cardi B’s 2018 iHeartRadio Music Awards 2018 acceptance speech in which she says:

“I wanna thank my haters too — because they’ve been downloading my stuff so they can hear it and talk crap about it. But it benefits me.”

Young captioned the video on his story: “Thanks for all the love on the album.”
