Donald Trump’s Patriotic Return To Butler, Pennsylvania
On Saturday, October 5th, Trump returned to Butler, PA, the site of his first assassination attempt.
During his return rally, Trump opened with the iconic line, “As I was saying,” referring to the moment during his first speech when he was cut off by the bullet that nicked his head and nearly ended his life. He picked up right where he left off, showing the graph that, according to experts, saved his life. They said that if he had not turned to share the graph with the audience, he would be dead now.
After this opening, he began his speech. During his speech, one of the crowd members had a medical emergency, so Trump stopped speaking and asked for a doctor.

“Are you doing okay?” Trump asked the injured rally attendee; when there was no response, Trump waited in silence. Trump then said, “We’ve got to protect our people, right? Take your time” to explain the elongated silence.
What did the crowd do in the moment of silence? They began to sing the National Anthem.
The spontaneous singing began quietly and gradually gained momentum. As the crowd stood and removed their caps, the volume of the singing increased in response to the National Anthem. The anthem reached a crescendo over the field where the assassination attempt had taken place, and Trump joined the crowd.
