Darius Rucker And His Girlfriend, Emily Deahl, Recently Got Engaged
Rucker shared the exciting news on October 8 when he revealed on Instagram that he had proposed to his longtime partner.
He posted a black-and-white photo that captured the moment he got down on one knee. In it, Deahl is looking down at him with a big smile on her face.
“Thank you for showing me a level of happiness I have never known,” he wrote in the post’s caption. “The day I met you I knew I didn’t want to go another one without you. Now I don’t have to.”
Their engagement news came just a month after fans even realized Rucker was in a relationship. The couple went public for the first time in September when the “Wagon Wheel” singer shared a photo of them standing outside the Las Vegas Sphere.
Even though it may seem sudden to people on the outside, Rucker and Deahl have actually been together much longer than many think.
If you scroll back far enough on their separate Instagram accounts, you’ll notice that both of them posted photos with the same Cavalier King Charles Spaniels almost a year ago.
For those who don’t know, Deahl is a singer and songwriter, too. She’s also a content creator based in London, where Rucker had relocated to work on his own music.
Darius Rucker Shares How Wedding Planning Is Going
Rucker recently sat down with TODAY and talked about how wedding planning is going with Deahl.
And it turns out, there really hasn’t been any at all.
“We don’t really have any plans. We’re not gonna plan,” he said. “We’re just gonna get married. Have a big party somewhere.”
“You guys will be invited,” he joked with the hosts.
He also confirmed that he and Deahl have “been together for a couple of years” and called her “an amazing human being.”
Other than that, Rucker didn’t share any more details about what their future wedding might look like. However, whatever they decide to do will most likely be a simple celebration between the two.
