Details About Carl Dean’s Will
Dolly Parton’s late husband, Carl Dean’s will has been revealed seven months after his passing at the age of 82.
According to court documents obtained by US Weekly, Dean signed his will in January 2013. It named his wife as the sole beneficiary of his estate through the Carl Thomas Dean Trust, with Parton serving as the trustee. She asked the court to name her the executor of his estate.

The filing states that Parton will receive all of Dean’s right, title, and interests in any items related to her music and entertainment career.
This includes photos, costumes, jewelry, instruments, and equipment. She will also inherit furniture, artwork, automobiles, and other personal belongings.
Additionally, Dean’s will mentions his five nieces and nephews, as well as Parton’s 14 nieces and nephews. The plan stated that if Parton had passed before him, all of the items would be divided equally among the family members.
Since the couple did not have children, Dean named his niece to serve as executor in case Parton was unable to fulfill the role.
In the documents, Dean said that he would leave a handwritten note detailing who would receive his personal and household property. If, for some reason, the note couldn’t be found, Parton would be the one to distribute the items.

Dolly & Carl Dean Had Been Together For Over 60 Years
In March, Parton’s team confirmed the news of her husband’s passing in a statement that was posted to the singer’s social media.
“Carl and I spent many wonderful years together,” Parton said. “Words can’t do justice to the love we shared for over 60 years.“
Parton first met Dean when she was 18 and he was 21. The two randomly crossed paths at a laundromat.
Oddly enough, it was the first day that the “9 to 5” singer had moved to Nashville. Two years later, they got married.
Dean was very well known for appreciating his privacy. While his wife had spent decades in the spotlight, he rarely appeared in public.
In 2016, to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary, he participated in his first and only interview, which gave a rare glimpse into their relationship.
“My first thought was I’m gonna marry that girl,” Dean said. “My second thought was, Lord, she’s good lookin’. And that was the day my life began.”
Parton wrote and released a song dedicated to her husband after his passing. You can listen to that below.
