Ella Langley fans are going wild after the singer put a twangy, slow country spin on an ’80s pop classic.

A few days ago, Ella posted a video on her TikTok covering Rick Astley’s 1987 track “Never Gonna Give You Up.”

For those who spend a lot of time online, you might associate the song with the famous internet prank called “Rickrolling,” where a clip of Astley’s original music video suddenly appears when you least expect it.

Langley said the song had “been stuck in my head all day,” so she grabbed her acoustic guitar and gave it a try.

And she absolutely nailed it! She managed to put her own country flair into the song while still honoring the original sound.

Unfortunately, she didn’t share a full version of the song. The clip she posted is only 18 seconds long, but it was enough for it to go absolutely viral.

The snippet has already racked up over 1.2 million views. The comments are full of fans begging Ella to release a full version. A few messages left by fans praising her cover include:

“Damn, that voice hits. Stevie Knicks meets Shania”

“your voice tickles my brain 🧠 in all the best ways 😁”

“The best Rick roll I could ask for 🥰”

“country music needed you”

Ella Langley Recently Hit A Major Career Milestone

Ella has achieved amazing success in the country music scene in a very short time.

A big milestone in her career came from her latest single, “Choosin’ Texas.” The song was originally released on October 17.

Langley co-wrote the song with country superstar Miranda Lambert. The lyrics to “Choosin’ Texas” were inspired by a crazy real-life story of Miranda’s.

In December, the song reached number one on the US Hot Country Songs chart, marking her first solo career chart-topper.

It also became the fastest-rising solo female song at US country radio this decade, reaching the top ten in just eight weeks.

And that’s not all. This week, “Choosin’ Texas” climbed to number 5 on the Billboard Hot 100. This is Ella’s first top-five hit and her first time in the top ten on the chart.
