Charlie Kirk, who was known as a major conservative voice and CEO of Turning Point USA, was shot and killed during a Q&A session held at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah, on September 10.

The incident happened while Charlie was under the pop-up tent for his “American Comeback Tour,” with hundreds of people gathered on the school’s campus.

Just two days later, his wife, Erika Frantzve, delivered her first speech following the fatal shooting.

Erika talked about the impact Charlie left here on this earth and the movement that he started to inspire young people and point them to Christ.

She spoke from Charlie’s podcast studio in Arizona, reflecting on his bold life of action and love while standing next to his empty chair.

On September 18, Turning Point USA announced that its board had unanimously elected Erika Kirk as the organization’s new CEO and Chair of the Board.

Erika Posts Touching Note From Charlie

On Saturday (October 11), Erika posted a sweet note handwritten by Charlie before he was killed.

Erika shared during her speech last month that her late husband wrote her “love notes” every Saturday while he observed the Sabbath.

She wanted to share this particular note in hopes of encouraging other married couples to love one another deeper.

“I share this with you not to prove a point, not to make anyone feel like they need to do the same for their spouse, but to encourage you. To show that when your husband loves you as Christ loved the church you have a deeper respect for him, a deeper love,” Erika wrote in the caption.

Charlie emphasized in the letter how he was “touched” by his wife’s support towards his mission with TPUSA. He finished the note by saying how he wanted to better serve Erika and how in love he was with her.

“I share this in hopes that today, husbands are encouraged to be even better husbands and wives are encouraged to be even better wives. I’d give anything to have a Saturday breakfast with my husband asking how we can better serve one another for the week ahead…so if you’re reading this, and you have that blessing, please take advantage of it for me,” Erika said.

Charlie and Erika were married in 2021 and shared two children together.
