on Jul 17, 2024
Austin City Limits is kicking off its 50th-anniversary celebrations by honoring Garth Brooks at its 10th-anniversary Hall of Fame event.
For the first time in its decade-long history, the ACL Hall of Fame will induct only one honoree at this special 10th Anniversary celebration. Adding to the festivities, Brooks and his band will perform on September 5 at ACL Live at the Moody Theater in Austin, Texas. His induction ceremony will be broadcast as an hourlong special on PBS at a later announced date.
“To be part of anything Austin City Limits is and always has been an honor,” Brooks said in a statement. “I am humbled and grateful to not only be a part of the 50th Anniversary, but to be inducted into the ACL Hall of Fame is over the top.”
This will mark Brooks’ fourth appearance at Austin City Limits. The country legend first graced the program way back in 1990, when his career was just getting started. Additionally, Brooks appeared twice during the 25th anniversary year to both open and close the season.

While becoming an inductee into the ACL Hall of Fame marks an exciting moment in Brooks’ long career, with one door opening, another closes.
After eight years, Garth Brooks is getting ready to say goodbye to his popular weekly series, “Inside Studio G.”
Since it started in July 2016, this intimate chat with fans has been a favorite among Brooks’ devoted followers. It began on his Facebook page and SiriusXM before moving to his website and The Garth Channel on TuneIn.
Brooks announced the news on Monday, July 15, suggesting that the series would wrap up by Christmas, but he didn’t give a specific reason for ending the show.
Congratulations to Garth on his induction into the ACL Hall of Fame!
