Zach Bryan Finds Himself In The Middle Of a New Controversy
Zach Bryan is facing backlash after comments he made to a fan.
Over the weekend, Zach Bryan wrapped up a three-night run of concerts at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
Thousands of fans showed up to support Bryan and his band each night. On night two, many even stayed late, hoping for a chance to meet the “Something in the Orange” singer.
However, that didn’t happen. Fans reportedly waited for about four hours after the show with no signs of Bryan coming out to see them.
Many were especially upset because he had taken time to meet fans after the first night at MetLife.
One fan waiting in the crowd that night took to TikTok to share their experience. In the now-deleted video, the user said Bryan drove right past the crowd without stopping.
“We waited until 4:00 AM,” the fan wrote, according to American Songwriter.
“Zach Bryan driving away from his fans that waited 4 hours to meet him; he didn’t even roll down his window to say hi.”
But this is where things began to escalate.
Soon after the video was shared, Zach Bryan saw it himself and left a couple of comments that have fans split in opinion.
Bryan replied to the video saying, “You’re not entitled after someone plays two and a half hours to a picture or a hello. GOMD.”
For those who don’t know, “GOMD” is an acronym for “Get off my d***.”
And it turns out the fan who posted the video is only 14 years old, which caused even more backlash.
Bryan later commented again, writing back, “I went out and took pictures both night one and three. I had a third show the next day and it was late, needed to rest.”
Country Singer Gavin Adcock Weighs In On The Situation
While many fans agreed that Zach Bryan isn’t obligated to stop for meet-and-greets after a show, his response to the 14-year-old fan didn’t sit well with a lot of people.
One artist who’s not siding with Bryan is fellow country singer Gavin Adcock, who shared his thoughts on the situation in a post on his X account.
“If you can’t handle the criticism of a 14 year old why do people idolize you?” Adcock wrote.
“That kid was head over heels to meet you and spent/ parents spent a ton of money to see you. He’s got feeling too and a you’re a “grown man” nearly 30. They’re the only reason you are around.”
