Governor Newsom Says He Will “Indefinitely Suspend” Kid Rock From Performing In California

There’s a strong chance that Kid Rock will not be performing in California anytime soon.

On Friday, September 19, California Governor Gavin Newsom’s official press office shared a post on its verified X account directed at Kid Rock.

In it, the governor’s office announced that he would be “indefinitely suspended” from performing in California.

“BECAUSE OF HIS HORRIFIC MUSIC, CALIFORNIA WILL INDEFINITELY SUSPEND KID ROCK FROM PERFORMING IN THE GOLDEN STATE. YOU’RE WELCOME!,” the post read.

The post quickly grabbed attention online, leaving many people wondering if something like this could really happen. So, is there any truth to the claim?

Rest assured, a quick look into it shows that the so-called ban that Governor Newsom mentioned on the country-rock singer is actually satire.

The joke post is part of an ongoing back-and-forth between the two.

How Did The Newsom vs. Kid Rock Online Feud Start?

It seems the exchange started when Newsom posted an AI-generated photo of Kid Rock. In it, he is dressed as Uncle Sam to promote Newsom’s campaign. Kid Rock fired back with some choice words in response.

Many people assume Newsom originally posted the meme, knowing it would get a reaction from the “All Summer Long” singer.

It’s no secret that Kid Rock has been an outspoken supporter of Donald Trump, who has also had a few online disputes with the California Governor.

Some believe the post was meant to provoke him and spark discussion about free speech and censorship.

The issue of free speech has been a hot topic online lately, especially after Jimmy Kimmel Live was taken off the air. The late-night host faced backlash following comments he made about the president and the shooting of conservative commentator Charlie Kirk.

So far, the online feud hasn’t gone beyond a few responses. It’s also unclear if fans will see Kid Rock perform in California in the future following the clash. As of right now, he does not have any scheduled performances coming up, according to his official website.
