George Strait Releases A New Album For The First Time In Five Years
Country legend George Strait has been a busy man since releasing his 31st studio album, Cowboys & Dreamers, in 2024. The album has been featured in his live set lists as he continues to tour selectively.
Earlier this year, the “King of Country Music,” became a 2025 class recipient of a star on the iconic Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Strait has also been heavily involved in Texas flood relief efforts, as he held a massive sold-out benefit concert for the Lone Star state in July.
George Strait Returns To Lubbock
Following the recent announcement of his return to Clemson, South Carolina in 2026, Strait unveiled an additional stadium performance for next year.
He will play in the round at Jones AT&T Stadium in Lubbock, Texas, on April 25, 2026 for a one-night-only concert event. Fellow Texas native Miranda Lambert and acclaimed newcomer Hudson Westbrook will also join the country music legend.
With an increasingly smaller touring schedule, Strait has continued to make each live performance a landmark event.
In 2024, he delivered one of the largest single-ticketed concerts in U.S. history with 110,905 fans in attendance at George Strait: The King at Kyle Field at Texas A&M University’s Kyle Field.
Strait then performed only five live shows in 2025, with limited stops in Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Buffalo, Foxborough, and Inglewood’s SoFi Stadium.
Tickets for the Lubbock performance will be available to the public beginning Friday, November 21, 2025, at 10 a.m. CT via GeorgeStrait.com and authorized ticket outlets.
In addition to his upcoming live performances in Clemson and Lubbock, Strait will be honored at the 47th Annual Kennedy Center Honors this December, in recognition of his distinguished lifetime contributions to American culture through the performing arts.
Early next year, Strait will also be inducted into the Texas Songwriters Hall of Fame, a distinction that acknowledges his exceptional career as both a performer and songwriter, and his enduring influence on the evolution of country music across generations.
