WWE Legend Hulk Hogan Was Laid To Rest During A Private Funeral Held In Florida

On Tuesday, August 5, Hulk Hogan was laid to rest during a private memorial service held in his hometown of Clearwater, Florida.

Hogan’s passing was reported 12 days earlier after emergency responders were called to his home for concerns of cardiac arrest.

He was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital, where he was later confirmed dead. He was 71.

One week after his passing, Hogan’s official cause of death was made public.

Reports shared that the wrestling legend died of an acute myocardial infarction, more commonly known as a heart attack. Records also revealed that Hogan had a history of Leukemia CLL, a type of cancer that attacks the white blood cells.

Hogan’s previous battle with cancer was never made public before his death.

Hogan’s Memorial Was Attended By His Family, Close Friends, And Fellow Celebrities

Many friends and family members gathered to honor Hulk Hogan’s memory during the private service.

Photos obtained by Page Six captured the moment his casket was carried into the building where the memorial was held. In the image, the pallbearers are seen wearing what appear to be yellow flowers, which was one of Hogan’s signature colors from his days as a professional wrestler.

The outlet also reported that singer Kid Rock, professional skateboarder Bam Margera, and comedian Theo Von were among those in attendance to pay their respects.

Members of Hogan’s immediate family were not photographed at the funeral, and it’s unclear which of them attended.

He is survived by his third wife, Sky Daily, who was with him at their home when he passed.

Hogan also had two children from his previous marriage to ex-wife Linda. His son, Nick Hogan, 35, was the only family member present during a televised tribute for his father at WWE SummerSlam, held just three days before his funeral.

His daughter, Brooke Hogan, 37, had been estranged from him for two years leading up to his death. However, she did share a statement on social media following his passing.

In a separate post, Brooke confirmed that she did not attend the funeral. Instead, she and her husband took their twins to the beach, a place she said her father had always loved and spent a lot of his time.

“My father hated the morbidity of funerals,” Brooke wrote. “He didn’t want one. And although I know people grieve in many ways – and I’m so grateful for all celebrations and events organized to honor him, as his daughter, I had to make my own decision to honor him the best and most genuine way I knew how…privately…the way that made me feel the closest to him.”

She continued, “Daddy, we honored you in the simplest way that agreed with my soul. We took our babies to the beach, and put them in the same salty waters you loved.”
