Did You Know About Hulk Hogan’s Faith In Jesus?

It is a sad day for wrestling fans everywhere as multiple news outlets have reported that Hulk Hogan passed at 71.

Hulk Hogan became one of the most popular WWE wrestlers in the late 1970s and early 1980s.

His massive size, 6’7, made him a fan favorite in the WWE world and universe. He has made headlines for his wrestling prowess, his famous lifestyle, and even his businesses, including his beer brand.

However, one of the slightly less-known but deeply personal aspects of Hulk Hogan was his faith in God.

The wrestler shared on Twitter in 2023 that he had initially accepted Christ as his Savior at 14 years old. This is a declaration of faith and a lifetime commitment to the Christian faith.

Throughout Hulk Hogan’s career at the WWE, he spoke very sparingly about his faith. Given this lifestyle, Hogan shared that he “derailed” his faith.

In his own words, “I accepted Christ as my savior when I was 14, but I derailed.”

Hogan shared in a CBN interview that he hit a breaking point. He said he just surrendered.

“I mean, I just surrendered. I just said, ‘I can’t do it anymore.’ And I went back to the Bible, and I started reading again. And I’m either all the way in or all the way out with whatever I do. So if you’re with me, there’s no guesswork. If I’m with my Lord and Savior, I’m all the way in.”

It seems the wrestler meant it because he indeed went “all in.”

Hulk Hogan Baptized

Years later, at the age of 70, Hulk Hogan got baptized and shared his Christian beliefs publicly.

He said,

“Total surrender and dedication to Jesus is the greatest day of my life. No worries, no hate, no judgment… only love!”

In the Instagram post, he shared a video of himself and his new wife being baptized together.

Hulk Hogan married Sky Daily in 2023, and the pair got baptized in a ceremony at Indian Rocks Baptist Church in Florida.

Months after his baptism, Hogan, whose real name is Terry Gene Bollea, shared how he felt on that day. The famous wrestler said that he felt “anew.”

“Once I was baptized, I felt I was all anew. It really was a major pivot in my life.”

His final message to end the interview was that,

“It’s a spiritual war in this fallen world. Turn to the truth, seek him, and you shall find. Step outside your comfort zone, and you know accept Christ, knowing that he would heal the land, heal this nation, and heal the people. It just seems like such an easy choice for everyone if you’ll just surrender and accept him as your savior.”
